Amma JO's Honey Wings...with a kick!

What you’ll need:

-          a pack of medium sized chicken wings
-          SPICES: salt, Tastefully Simple Fiesta Party Dip Mix OR cayenne pepper, garlic powder
-          Diced onions
-          Onion Soup Mix
-          Olive oil
-          Sea salt
-          Soy Sauce
-          Honey

Directions:
-          Preheat your oven to 350 degrees
-          Place your chicken wings in a pan- I use about 12-15 at a time!
-          Cut up one medium size onion- chop it up any way you like it!  Place your onions on top of your chicken
-          Sprinkle your seasonings on your chicken (DO NOT INCLUDE THE ONION SOUP MIX- that’s for later!!)
-          Pour olive oil over your chicken- not too much!  I usually use about 3 tablespoons of olive oil
-          Pour about a ¼ cup of water in the pan (not too much)  You really don’t want your chicken to not taste boiled.  You want it to cook in it’s own juices!
-          Now put foil over your chicken and cook on 350 degrees for about 60mminutes.  Just pierce inside of a piece of chicken with your fork to make sure ALL THE RED is out!
-          Once your chicken is done, pour all of the broth out into a separate bowl- SAVE IT
-          Now, add one teaspoon of onion soup powder mix to the broth
-          Here’s where you mix to your tasting pleasure!  Mix honey, soy sauce and pepper into the broth.  You don’t want to much honey or it will be overpowering!  Add a good amount of pepper for a kick!!!  Generally, I add about 3 tablespoons of honey and two table spoons of soy sauce.  You want to make sure the broth gets a little thickness to it- but not too much since you’re going to cook it some more!  I’ll be honest, at this point the soy sauce and the honey may not taste good together, but once you throw the chicken back in the oven, it all blends together!
-          Now, place the chicken back into the oven UNCOVERED until the sauce starts to glaze and slightly crisp over the chicken
-          Take it out and let it cool!  Now, here is where I like to shake on a little more pepper for that kick before it cools!  It melts right into the honey glaze.  Delicious!

Now, you can eat with a nice salad or make some veggies for the kids!
