Since I’m a busy mom and
things get crazy, my ‘me time’ usually happens at night… once I put my kids in
the bed! So, there I am, up late at
night, working on projects and/or catching a movie or my favorite show to
destress! That’s when the danger
comes….SNACK TIME! I’ve done it all
honey- ice cream, cheez-its, cheese nips, chips and a whole lot of other
things!!!
Eating late isn’t healthy for
you and it’s even more unhealthy to eat JUNK FOOD late at night.
One of the things that has really been helping me is
CARROT JUICE.
Rather than delving into a
snack, just stop for a second and redirect your craving! I’ve learned that cravings do pass so if you
just wait a little and allow your mind and body to get over the urge, you can give
yourself a little time to make a wise health decision.
Instead of an unhealthy snack
or a cup of soda, get a cup (or sometimes I do ½ cup) of carrot juice in your
favorite little cup and sip on it. If
you’re really hungry, chomp on a rice cake or a low carb snack like fruit or
maybe a little granola mixed with yogurt.
At any rate, the nice thing
about drinking carrot juice is that it has TREMENDOUS health benefits!
Carrot juice is:
- Known for beta
carotene where you get your Vitamin A, B and E.
- Rich in minerals
- Great for your
skin and hair
- Contains
antioxidants
I personally prefer the
carrot juice from Bolthouse Farms. I
usually get it from Weis Markets here locally, but you can find it at a lot of
stores.
Remember that getting healthy
isn’t about trying to change everything in one day, it’s about making those
small changes that you can keep consistent with slowly over time!
