My precious little baby boy (8 years old) walked up to me with a BIG CARDBOARD box in his hand. He said, "Mommy, I want to make this into a robot suit. Make me a robot."
I thought to myself, "No Way!" First of all, I was soooooo tired, I just wanted to sit down and do nothing. Second of all, it really was the most oddly shaped box.
But here's the thing....I looked at him as he was looking at that box. He had a smirk on his face and as he was looking at the box, I could tell, he wasn't seeing the box, he was seeing something else. Something sparked inside of me and I wanted to help him make his imagination come to life!
Supermom was back in the house!
So, I said, "Bring me some scissors." Meanwhile, I had NO IDEA WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO.
I started using my imagination just like him. He obviously saw something in that box and I had to help bring this to life. Long story short, we both figured out a way together. Not only did we make a robot suit, but we also made some pretty cool arm guards and a little hat too :)
The point is, sometimes our situation is just like that box. We look at it and see that it can be different. It can be more. It can be exciting. It can be more useful. It can be more than what you see.
The truth is....you really can MAKE ANYTHING OUT OF NOTHING. You can make something happen. Listen, regardless of how little you have, you never have nothing. Make something happen with it.
What do you have?
Make something out of it.
What do you see? Create it.
Imagine, hope and see what can be. Take your most difficult situation and hope and believe, but don't just stop there. Take action. Put your hand to the task. Make something happen. Reach out. Ask questions. Get answers. Take it one step further. Take it to the next level. Keep pushing it further. Push past the 'no'. Push past the fear. Break through your wants and your needs and CREATE SOMETHING FANTASTIC. Something fabulous. Something that will make you say, 'Wow, I did it.'
Make anything.
